Summer Maintenance

Hotter months are here, and it’s time to make sure you and your home stay refreshed and cool. 

On or around the first day of July:

Indoor

  • Service HVAC system.

  • Have professional chimney sweep inspect and clean fireplace flue/chimney.

  • Check caulk around fireplace facing and repair as needed.

  • Service septic system.

  • Clean kitchen appliances inside and out.

Outdoor

  • Verify main water cutoff valve is accessible and functioning properly.

  • Apply water-seal treatment to all outdoor exposed wood (properly power-washing wood first may be necessary).

  • Inspect roof for loose or missing shingles or flashing.

  • Clear and clean weep holes in brick siding.
